This poster series depicts the song “Sun Hands” by Local Natives. The three posters show how different messages can be interpreted visually through typography and communication strategies. A series of type studies were conducted prior to creating the final poster compositions. I investigated various ways to communicate the tone and emotion of the song. I explored order, balance, repetition, weight, direction, and proximity, as well as examined the boundaries on legibility and readability to generate expression. Though this exercise, the texture, rhythm, and energy of the content was able to emerge.
